South Sea Cargo departed Port Vila on the 1st of October, beginning the new month with another trip north to Malekula and Santo.  Arriving at Litslits wharf, the trucks got in gear and headed to Green Dock to deliver 2 LCL containers.

The Malekula work was wrapped up quickly in just 1 day as they brought a FCL to a local company and then back loaded the remaining cargo for Santo.

Then the team arrived at Santo that night at the Melcoffee wharf. The next morning work began with LCL unloading, repositioning empties and delivering other cargo to local customers.

While the FCL containers were distributed to local companies, the remaining crew members were kept busy with the LCL unloading. The crew noticed the wind picking up that afternoon so all attention was keeping a close eye on the weather. The next day operations in Santo started to wind down. The barge was loaded and the original plan to return to Malekula stayed the same.

The next morning, arriving at Litslits again,  the unloading operations began, several FCL containers to be deposited to the various clients. Over at the Green Dock area there were 3 full LCL containers to be collected, full with local supplies and materials to be sent to relatives back in the capital. One of the team members noted this particular trip to Malekula had a big focus on LCL customers, everyone agrees its great to see a boom in this market.

When some weather warnings were advised, the crew delayed the return to Port Vila, which allowed some additional time for shore repositions and back loading. They even ventured out to Kona Point for another container delivery, and to collect a 40ft container to reposition to Green Dock’s space. Another empty ISO tank was picked up which will have to be filled up with diesel in Vila. More delay notices came through so the barge would have to sit tight before a safe return trip to Port Vila was possible.By Saturday the 7th, Carsinos was safely cleared for departure and arrived home in Port Vila the next morning.
