SUBMISSION SUCCESSFUL

Today the Team safely returned to Port Vila from Tanna after delivering Containers of vitally required Fuel, Food Stuffs and Materials under Level 3 COVID-19 restrictions.

SSC is operating under a Ministry of Health (MOH) approved SOP and at the direction of Office of Maritime (OMR). The call to Tanna included support from Tafea Health, Tafea Provincial Government, Tafea Police, Bethel Land Owners and Tanna Business Community.

SSC has a ‘zero contact’ protocol for container deliveries to ensure bubble quarantine measures are support while still enabling outer island supply chain logistics.

The SSC Team has worked tirelessly to establish these safe protocols under the direction from MOH and OMR. Learning lessons from the International Container Ships and Stevedore SOP’s, which have run continuously from the start of the COVID-19 crisis with zero transmission shore side.

This successfully voyage between Port Vila and Tanna has underpinned logistical solutions, to enable COVID compliant supply chain capabilities to the outer islands.

Our next voyage is planned to depart Port Vila early next week for the Islands of Malakula and Santo, carrying vital supplies and export goods to keep communities connected and the economy moving.

Under Level 3 conditions SSC has cargo only voyages and no passengers are permitted on board. SSC is also looking into expand our Container Supply capacity to include Pentecost, Ambae, Epi, Shepard, South Malakula and the Banks.
